About the event

The webinar “CASRI – Shaping together the collaborative action for resilient circular production systems” aims to connect research needs with funding opportunities. The webinar will encourage two types of action:

1. Funders and programme owners: European and national funders, programme owners, partnerships and other funding mechanisms will be encouraged to identify opportunities for coordinated programming, complementary investment and joint initiatives.

2. Research and innovation actors: Research organisations, universities, businesses, public authorities, cities, regions, civil society and EPAs will be encouraged to translate priorities into collaborative activities.

During the webinar:

- Funders will gain insights into future issues that are relevant for efficient funding.

- Knowledge creators will learn about funding and collaboration opportunities for their research.

- Users will be invited to identify the specific knowledge they need to support resilient circular production systems.

The starting point is a map of funding opportunities linked to the “Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda” (SRIA) for the sustainability transition at European level. The SRIA has eight interconnected key themes. The webinar will focus on the central theme “Resilient, net-zero, circular production systems”, but will also address “Sustainable urbanization”.

The SRIA was developed through a Collaborative Action involving European and national Environmental Protection Agencies (EPAs). This work took place within the project “CASRI”. The project aims to coordinate and enhance systemic, actionable and transversal Sustainability Research and Innovation. It responds to shared challenges across Europe, such as safeguarding our security, competitiveness and resilience through sustained access to materials and resources, resilient production systems and supply chains as well as climate-resilient infrastructure, healthy populations, functioning ecosystems, effective regulation and societal capacity to manage transformation.
