Partnerships for Resilient Food Systems in Times of Crisis

Food security is increasingly becoming a strategic issue for the future. Extreme weather events, geopolitical conflicts, cyberattacks, and disruptions to global supply chains have highlighted how dependent cities and businesses are on resilient food systems. At the same time, expectations are growing for retailers, municipalities, and other stakeholders to work together in developing solutions that strengthen the resilience of food supply systems.

"Circular Cities, Secure Food" brings together representatives from the food retail sector, local governments, academia, agriculture, and civil society in a neutral, pre-competitive setting to discuss the future of resilient food systems.

The objective is to work with key stakeholders to analyze systemic challenges, identify practical courses of action, and foster partnerships that strengthen resilient food systems.

As a key pillar of food security, the food retail sector has a vital role to play. This forum provides an opportunity to:

• discuss current and emerging risks to food supply and logistics;

• build early connections with municipalities and relevant partners on crisis preparedness and resilience;

• contribute practical experience and help shape future solutions;

• initiate new partnerships for resilient supply chains and food distribution systems; and

• bring the retail sector's perspective into a strategic dialogue that extends beyond individual organizational interests.
