The innovation hub :metabolon offers visitors the opportunity to experience how research and knowledge transfer can be combined and put into practice. The aim is to present complex topics in a way that makes them accessible to the public, tailored to specific target groups.

Closed material cycles, transformation processes and circular value creation – surely these aren’t topics for children? Quite the opposite! For the generation that has the longest time ahead of them in this world, these topics are particularly important. Using examples that children can relate to, the topics are presented in a way that is relevant to everyday life and easy to understand.

As part of this, several areas of the site will be explored, including the exhibition ‘Linear Becomes Circular’. But there will also be plenty of hands-on activities to try out in the learning areas.

The event will be rounded off with a ride down Germany’s longest double slide – after climbing the 360 steps up the landfill cone.

Der Innovationsstandort :metabolon bietet Gästen die Möglichkeit zu erleben, wie Forschung und Wissenstransfer gemeinsam gedacht und umgesetzt

werden können. Ziel ist es komplexe Themenfelder so aufzubereiten und zielgruppengerecht der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich zu machen.

Schließen von Stoffkreisläufen, Transformationsprozesse und eine zirkuläre Wertschöpfung sind nichts für Kinder? Ganz im Gegenteil! Für die Generation die die längste Zeit in dieser Welt noch vor sich hat sind diese Themen besonders wichtig. Entlang für Kinder nachvollziehbaren Beispielen werden die Themen alltagsbezogen und anschaulich aufbereitet.

Im Zuge dessen werden mehrere Stationen des Standorts erkundet, u.a. die Ausstellung „linear wird zirkulär“. Aber auch praktische Elemente zum Ausprobieren in den Lernorten sollen nicht zu kurz kommen.

Abgerundet wird die Veranstaltung mit der Abfahrt auf der längsten Doppelrutsche Deutschlands – nachdem die 360 Stufen auf den Deponiekegel

erklommen wurden.

Du bist zwischen 8-12 Jahren alt und wolltest schon immer mal hinter die Kulissen blicken und verstehen wie eine bessere Zukunft entstehen kann? Melde dich an!

Hinweise: die Treppe ist nicht barrierefrei, gutes Schuhwerk und wetterfeste Kleidung sind empfehlenswert.
